Prospective Players
We're always looking for new players, both experienced and
inexperienced (all shapes and sizes welcome). If we're in-season, please feel free to join
us at practice, or if you prefer to contact us first, send an
email to our club president
(au1024@wayne.edu).
If you've never played before, we'll teach you. Practice
times can always be found on the home page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you tell me more about the club?
When is the season?
We have a fall season from late August to early November,
and a spring season in March and April. Some players also get
together in the summer to play touch rugby and work on our
conditioning.
When do you practice?
In the summer we practice 6-8 at Palmer field until the school year starts, then we
move to 8-10pm under the lights at Mitchell field. In the spring,
practice times vary depending on the weather and availability of
indoor fields.
What equipment do I need?
To get started, you'll just need a pair of soccer cleats (or
rugby cleats if you prefer), and you'll need
some sturdy cotton rugby shorts before your first game.
How much does it cost?
You'll need to be
CIPP registered ($25/year),
pay club dues (about $150/year), and if you're not a U of M student, you'll need
to pay a for a temporary University facilities pass (about $85/season) in order
to use the fields.
Can I learn this game?
Very few people in the United States have grown up
playing rugby. Most of the players on our team learned
to play while in college or later. If you're athletic
and put some effort into learning the basics, you can
be competitive in our league.
